Oncologist and Muttontown resident Rajiv Datta, M.D., is included in the 13th edition of Top Doctors: New York Metro Area. This is the third consecutive year that Dr. Datta will be included in the guide from Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., which spotlights the top 10 percent of primary care and specialty care physicians in the Tri-State area.
Dr. Datta is chair of the department of surgery and medical director of the Cancer Center at South Nassau Communities Hospital.
Under Dr. Datta's leadership, South Nassau's cancer program was recently named a recipient of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) Outstanding Achievement Award. South Nassau is one of just five hospitals in New York from among 83 in the United States to receive the award this year.
Dr. Datta was the president of the Nassau County Surgical Society in 2009. He joined South Nassau in 2001 and is recognized as one of the leading head and neck surgeons in the United States.
