Syosset Library Holds English Conversation Group

The group is for people for whom English is not their first language.

The recently celebrated at its last class the newly formed English Conversation Group.

Teacher Benita Miller taught the class to a group of 18 people for whom English is not their first language. An experienced  ESL teacher, Ms. Miller’s goal was to help the students understand spoken English better and aid them in expressing themselves more fluidly.

The class stressed hearing and speaking about everyday topics such as meeting people, going shopping, buying clothing, giving and getting directions, visiting the doctor, going to a teacher’s conference, dining out, filling out forms and much more. At the last class, the students brought in a little desserts from their native countries.
