Update: OLMA, Syosset Schools Closed Monday
OLMA announces closure; Syosset schools close ahead of Sandy.
Our Lady of Mercy Academy and Syosset School District will be closed Monday due to Hurricane Sandy.
According to News 12, Syosset schools and OLMA won't be in session in advance of the storm. No word yet on Tuesday's status.
Long Island Railroad announced plans to shut down service at 7 p.m. Sunday ahead of the storm as Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano ordered a mandatory evacuation of flood zones. North Shore-LIJ hospitals even canceled surgeries to prepare for the worst.
