Boy and Cub Scouts from Syosset brightened some young Sandy victims' days for the holidays.
Filling 500 backpacks with toys and school supplies, Cub Scout Pack 168 and Boy Scout Troop 170 helped bring some joy to Long Beach residents at the Martin Luther King Center and St. Mary's Church.
The donations were part of Syosset-Woodbury Rotary Club's We Care program.
In addition to toys and supplies, Syosset-Woodbury Rotary Club donated $250 to Astoria Federal Savings Bank's collection drive for Red Cross. Astoria Federal Savings will match up to $25,000 of funds collected in the drive.
