Sunshine and low 80's this week.

The days of 95-plus heat seem to be long gone, as low-80's are expected this week. Rain and thunderstorms are coming on Wednesday.

Listed below is the weather forecast for Syosset for the upcoming week, courtesy of the National Weather Service. 

Today: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Northwest wind between 9 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming south.  A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 11pm.

Wednesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 9am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 82.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
