Expect lots of rain this week with lower temperatures.

No more hurricanes and earthquakes, but Syosset residents can expect rain, rain and more rain this week, with temperatures in the low to mid-70's.

Listed below is the weather forecast for Syosset for the upcoming week, according to the National Weather Service:

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. South wind between 8 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tuesday: Showers, mainly before 8am. High near 73. North wind between 9 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 76. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 77.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 77.
