Syosset, like many other communities on Long Island, is still recuperating after Hurricane Sandy. Though most of the trees have been carted off the streets and power has been restored, the memory of Sandy is still hovering closely over our heads.
As people shift from Thanksgiving to Christmas, Hannukkah, and Kwanzaa, buying presents may take a back seat to dealing with FEMA or rebuilding homes. People may opt for the quick clicking of Cyber Monday to the long lines of Black Friday.
