Tell Us Where the Potholes Are in Syosset

It’s roadwork season, so let’s identify the streets that need repair.

Potholes! It’s the equivalent of a curse on Long Island.

These gravelly, asphalt mini graves are the scourge of any commute, spilling coffee and jarring your teeth at every opportunity.

It may have been a mild winter, but the roads around Syosset still need fixing.

Patch is on a quest to uncover the roadways and intersections with the worst potholes. So vote in the poll, sound off in the comments section, and sound the alarm. Your car – and that minivan full of kids on the way to lacrosse practice – will thank you.

Spring kicks off road repair season. We’ll take your concerns to the highway department and get timetable for repair.

And don’t forget to check our Syosset traffic map, powered by Mapquest.

Any Oyster Bay resident can call the Town's Highway Department to report a town road condition problem. Call 677-5757 and speak with a representative. Give them the location information and your contact phone number.
Someone will be dispatched to investigate the problem for appropriate action.

I can vouch for that. I'm generally not one to call the Town for every little thing, but Councilman Coschignano's office took care of the potholes on my street within 24 hours of my call. No need to get steamed over these little problems. The Town of Oyster Bay is very responsive and will tap all its resources to provide solutions.

For instance, critical thinking is not about finding fault with people who make noise by using leafRead More blowers, but about an in-depth thinking of goals and values we will achieve by limiting their use. People could earn more quality life and peace of mind by having quiet time in the early morning and the late evening. The value of mental peace is regarded crucial in our life. Critical thinking gives us a process of thinking to get into the depth of the problem. It begins with an analysis of the situation (structure, background, or setting), in which the information of when, where, and who is identified. The information may help set up seasonal differences in restricting hours of leaf blower operation. Further thinking will lead critical thinkers to note the implication of the new ordinance to the business of licensed landscapers. Also, critical thinkers may think about the development of a soundproof leaf blowing machine. Critical thinking helps us to increase and share our common values, rather than tries to find faults with people who make problems.
