"5 Things You Need to Know Today" takes a look at Trade Nassau, an American Idol on the radio, Town of Oyster Bay meeting, and more.

Happy Tuesday to you, and welcome to "5 Things You Need to Know Today." Each weekday we'll be putting a little extra spotlight on some of the things that are going on in the Syosset area. While we do our best to keep up with what's going on, we can always use your help. If you don't see something that should be on the list, don't be afraid to let us know!

1. is Tuesday at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature more than 100 local business exhibitors and 30 local sponsors. You can attend the free program (the breakfast program is $20) to consult with experts on business growth, to network, promote your business, attend seminars and panel discussions, etc.

And it's all going toward a good cause. In a partnership with Island Harvest and in the fight against hunger on Long Island, those who attend Trade Nassau and contribute two non-perishable food items at the door will be entered into a prize drawing, and part of the proceeds from this event will go to support Island Harvest.
