Well, folks, it’s here at last! The long anticipated local talents of HUMC Off Broadway Theatre Group will proudly present its 7th annual production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” This hilarious one act musical comedy, conceived by Rebecca Feldman with music and lyrics by William Finn, a book by Rachel Scheinkin and additional material by Jay Weiss, centers around a imaginary spelling bee in the indistinct Putnam Valley Middle School, and centers around six peculiar adolescents and three equally eccentric adults. Auditions for this terrific show will be held on Thursday, January 31st at 7 pm and Sunday, February 3rd at 3:30 pm at the Hicksville United Methodist Church at 130 Old Country Road in Hicksville. Be prepared to sing 16 bars of music. Rehearsals will begin immediately, during the week of February 4th. Performances will be held on March 15, 16, 22, and 23 at 8 pm, and on March 17 at 2 pm.
