The Festival 5K is in memory of Sr. Jackie Walsh, RSM, a spirited, loving member of the Syosset-Woodbury and Hicksville communities. Sr. Jackie was tragically killed by a hit and run driver in the summer of 2012. It is in memory of Sr. Jackie’s compassionate, generous, and vibrant nature, that we invite you to honor her legacy of unconditional love and stewardship to the community by participating in the St. Edward’s Inaugural Festival 5K to benefit the Sister Jackie Memorial Fund.Proceeds from the Festival 5K support the Sister Jackie Memorial Fund, which provides educationalscholarships to Our Lady of Mercy Academy,Syosset for the parishioners of St. Edward the Confessor Parish and School.
