SYAC Girls Softball Registration & Evaluation

More Dates for SYAC Girls Softball Registration & Evaluation

Two more dates are announced for families to register girls to play SYAC Girls Softball in Spring 2014 and to be evaluated for a team. Each spring, hundreds of girls in Syosset, Woodbury and Jericho, from grades K-8 play softball in the SYAC program that has been held for the past four decades.

SYAC will hold Registration & Evaluation sessions at H.B. Thompson Middle School to evaluate skill levels to form balanced teams. Girls should wear sneakers and bring a fielding mitt. They also may bring a bat, though bats are provided. All girls who register and are evaluated are placed on teams. The cost for the season is $135.

Teams Coached by Parent Volunteers

SYAC invites parents to volunteer to coach SYAC teams. There also are opportunities for local businesses and organizations to sponsor SYAC teams.

Team rosters are announced in March. SYAC then holds skills clinics to help the girls to learn the game--and to help parents to be good coaches.

The season begins in April and lasts into early June, when playoffs are held. Games are weekday evenings, beginning at 6:30pm.
