Faith Lutheran Commemorates the 55th Anniversary of the Cornerstone

This Sunday, September, 29th, 2013, Faith Lutheran Church in Syosset will commemorate the 55th anniversary of the placement of the cornerstone of Faith's building on Jackson Avenue.  All are welcome to join us at our 10:00 AM worship service as we celebrate this event.

Although Faith Lutheran Church was established in 1952, it wasn't until 1958 that construction began on the Church as it now stands.  Up until 1949, Syosset was just a stopping point on the Long Island Railroad consisting of just a few stores surrounded by huge potato fields.  By 1953, hundreds of new homes and many modern shops were built.  During this time of rapid growth, a Lutheran congregation was formed with 61 charter members.
