Fall Fun at Faith

Last weekend, Faith Lutheran Church celebrated the season with a variety of fun activities for families.  The weekend began on Friday night with an Oktoberfest gathering which was a wonderful German feast.  Everyone enjoyed traditional German dishes such as bratwurst, sauerbraten with red cabbage, and German potato salad.  There was even some lively German music to enjoy during the festivities.

On Sunday, before the 10:00 AM worship service, the Sunday school children were able to carve pumpkins to take home.  During the coffee hour after church, all those present were treated to delicious fall treats.

Earlier, Faith Lutheran Church and School joined USA Weekend Magazine's Make a Difference Day on October 26th this year.  This is the nation's largest day of community service.  Faith's project was to collect shoes to be donated to families in need.  During the past week, almost 100 pairs of shoes were collected from church and nursery school families.

Faith Lutheran Church and School is located at 231 Jackson Avenue in Syosset.
