Inspired by a rose garden on Cold Spring Road in Syosset, a reader sent in this photo – a collage of the photos she took of the flowers.
“Roses are beautiful but extremely difficult to grow because they require a lot of care and are subject to all sorts of problems..… beetles, leaf damage, etc.,” the reader told Patch.
Yet the Syosset garden seems to be the exception. Though the harsh winter took its toll on the garden, upkeep has paid off, where now nearly 30 plants in total, many of them Hybrid Tea Roses, are thriving, in such colors as red, pink, lavender, orange, yellow, coral, peach, white and more.Find out what's happening in Syossetwith free, real-time updates from Patch.
