Holiday Guide: Five Easy Ways to Give Back

Looking to give back this holiday but don't know how? We found five places around town that make it easy to do some good this holiday.

 

It's the holiday season again, and if you have a sense of charity and a will to give back to the community and the lesser-fortunate, there are plenty of opportunities to do so:

1. The  is participating in "Toys for Tots", the long-running US Marine Corps toy drive. The FD will disperse the toys before Christmas. Toys should be in original packing, and will be accepted at least throughout this week.

2.  is accepting canned food which will be dispersed by Island Harvest.

3. is also accepting frozen turkey donations at any Bristal Assisted-Living or Panera location.

4. For just over 7$, you can purchase a pre-packed bag of essential holiday groceries at Stop and Shop of Woodbury. The groceries will be distributed to the less-fortunate through Island Harvest.

5. If winter 2012 is anything like last year's, we're in for a bitterly brutal freeze this season. So, the Parent Teacher Student Association is looking for coats of all sizes, styles, and colors. Drop 'em off in the main lobby of the.
