Guide to a Neighborhood New Year's Eve

Want to stay local this year and still have a great time? Here are some ideas in Syosset and Plainview.

 

Want to go out for New Year's Eve but don't want to battle the Manhattan crowds? Here are a few places to ring in the new year just five minutes from home.

Rare 650 is having its annual New Years Eve celebration, making sure its customers are full and entertained.  They will have their daily specials and while you’re eating you can enjoy the sounds of Tony De’vil. Once the clock strikes midnight, there will be a champagne toast.

If you’re in the mood for sushi and entertainment this New Years Eve then make sure you make your reservation at Nisen Sushi. This year, they are offering a five course menu at a prefixed price of $150 in addition to an open bar. The DJ will be playing all night long. You can top off your night with a champagne toast.

Christiano’s is offering a prefixed menu this New Year’s Eve. For $75 you get a hot antipasta followed by a house salad, your choice of one of four entrees and dessert. At mighnight there wil be a champagne toast to ring in the new year.

The Inn Between is the place if you are looking to have dinner and then continue partying until the ball drops. There is a prefixed menu of $29.95, offering an appetizer, salada, entrée and dessert and there will be a d.j. throughout the night. The champagne toast at midnight doesn’t mean the night is over because the bar section of The Inn Between will stay open late into the morning.

If you’re looking for something more family friendly, take the kids bowling. Syosset lanes will have two New Years Eve specials. From 4p.m. – 8 p.m. there will be pizza, soda, party favors and bowling. The cost will be $84 for six people. The later party, 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. , will offer the same things but with a champagne toast at midnight. The price for the later will be $99 for six people.

The Main Event has both food and entertainment. This year's New Years Eve party will be an 80s dance party accompanied by a d.j. and champagne toast at midnight. There are two dinner options at The Main Event. Option one is a sit down dinner from 9p.m. - 12:30 a.m. You are treated to your choice of appetizers, salad, entrees and desserts as well as an open bar, including all top shelf liquors. The price is $80 a person. Option two is a full buffett from 10 p.m - 2 a.m. for the price of $60. The open bar excludes top shelf liquor. If you choose not to drink, the price per person will be cut in half.

La Famiglia will be serving its usual family style menu as well as some specials like seafood and lamb chops. To celebrate the new year, there will be a champagne toast at midnight.

Carlyle at the Palace is hosting a party to ring in the new year. Starting at 9 p.m. guests will be treated to a premium open bar as well as hor'dourves. At midnight there will be a champagne toast and for those who want to stay after the ball drops, there will be a continental breakfast at 2 a.m. General admissions is $85, admission after midnight is $60 and VIP  is $125. Personal seating sections and bottle service comes with the VIP tickets.
