Albernas Looks to Shoot Syosset Into Playoffs

Senior guard Nick Albernas looks to help Syosset return back to the playoffs for the first time since the 09-10 season.

With another basketball season starting up in Syosset, the Braves will be looking to get back into the playoffs for the first time since the 2009-2010 season.

For the Braves to get back to the playoffs they are going to need senior guard Nick Albernas to provide Syosset with the offensive production he is more than capable of producing.

Albernas, who arguably is the team’s best shooter, is ready to play a bigger role in Syosset Head Coach Bobby Kopp’s offense.

“Last year I really didn’t play much,” Albernas said. “I feel that with a year on the varsity level under my belt I can really contribute to the team this upcoming season.”

Albernas hopes that his teammates can find him open looks so he can show off his impressive jump shot.

“Our players on our team do a really good job at finding the open man,” Albernas said. “I trust them to be able to give me an opportunity to hit some shots.”

When asked about Albernas, Kopp said he expects Albernas to be able to knock down some shots in his offense.

“Nick is obviously a very good shooter,” Kopp said. “We are going to need him to shoot the ball well to help us be successful.”

Senior guard Jake Canner is excited for what he thinks Albernas can bring to the team.

“Nick is going to be a huge asset to the team,” Canner said. “He can really stretch the floor. He has great shooting ability and if he is open he is going to knock down that shot every time.”

Albernas says the key for Syosset to have success is through a commitment to defense.

“I think we have to be able to play better defense this year,” Albernas said. “I think for us to have a chance at making the playoffs we really have to work hard in practice to improve our defense.”

“We have a really good team this year,” Albernas said. “I think if we all work hard and buy into Coach Kopp’s system we can make some noise.”

He is amazing to watch play. He is fast on the court and shoots 3's better than anyone I have ever seen. Can't wait to follow him thru college basketball. He's a natural shooter and can put up a lot of points.

For instance, critical thinking is not about finding fault with people who make noise by using leafRead More blowers, but about an in-depth thinking of goals and values we will achieve by limiting their use. People could earn more quality life and peace of mind by having quiet time in the early morning and the late evening. The value of mental peace is regarded crucial in our life. Critical thinking gives us a process of thinking to get into the depth of the problem. It begins with an analysis of the situation (structure, background, or setting), in which the information of when, where, and who is identified. The information may help set up seasonal differences in restricting hours of leaf blower operation. Further thinking will lead critical thinkers to note the implication of the new ordinance to the business of licensed landscapers. Also, critical thinkers may think about the development of a soundproof leaf blowing machine. Critical thinking helps us to increase and share our common values, rather than tries to find faults with people who make problems.
