Haberman Commits To Princeton

Braves Senior goalie Josh Haberman commits to Princeton University

Josh Haberman has worked his whole life for an opportunity to play soccer on the division one level. Now a Senior playing in his last season as Brave, Haberman made the decision to take his talents to Princeton University and spend the next four years of his life playing for the Tigers.

Haberman, a three year starter on the Braves varsity team, says his decision was “the obvious choice.”  Haberman says he narrowed his choices down to Emory, Lehigh, and Princeton before ultimately choosing Princeton. “At Princeton the academics are second to none,” said an excited Haberman. “Everything about the facilities was unbelievable. I was blown away there.”

Brett Waxer the head coach of the varsity boys soccer team spoke proudly about the kind of person Haberman is. “Josh has always been a very good goalie,” said Waxer. “He sets his goals high and when he puts his mind to something he is the kind of kid that will do what ever he has to do to get there. I am just really excited for him and the next stage of his career.”

Haberman attributes his offseason spent playing for Albertson Academy as a reason as to why his play has significantly improved over the years. “I got so much better because I played there,” he said. “I had a chance to play with some of the best players in the country and with every game I knew I had to bring my top stuff because if I didn’t I was not going to be playing.”

Haberman hopes that he can help bring the Braves a county championship before he graduates and goes on to the next level. “I hope to leave here with a championship and that would be the highlight of my Braves career.”
