March 11-17: 5 Things to Know This Week

1. This week is National Multiple Sclerosis Week. The Long Island chapter of the National MS Society is kicking off their week with the 2012 MS Awareness Night, Annual Meeting and Walk MS Kickoff at nearby Carlyle on the Green.

2. Tale as old as time. Song as old as rhyme. Beauty & the Beast premieres at Syosset High School Thursday night. This Disney favorite will run Thursday through Sunday and is $10 per ticket. Check our events calendar for showtimes and keep an eye out for a sneak preview this week on Patch.

3. We're changing our name to Syosset O'Patch this week in our Readers' Choice. Monday we'll ask you for nominations for the best places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. We'll take every nomination, list them in a poll, and you'll vote on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday, we'll announce the winner of the pot o' gold (metaphorically speaking -- we are on a budget, after all).

4. TOBAY holds their town board meeting Tuesday and zoning board of appeals meeting Thursday. Check our calendar for times and directions to the meeting.

5. The Syosset Chamber of Commerce holds their Annual Installation Dinner and Gala Monday night at Fox Hollow Country Club.
