Congregants, politicians, and religious figures will celebrate the completion of 's $5.3 million renovation this Sunday. The building dedication ceremony at 9 a.m. will celebrate the new facility that makes going to temple even more enjoyable and convenient.
"This renovation will serve the current members as well as the next generation for many years to come," said Midway Jewish Center president Mark Gelfand.
"As our membership continues to grow, so does the demand to stay up to date with the needs of the community."
The multimillion dollar expansion and renovation included an elevator to make it easier for congregants who need assistance, a state-of-the-art kitchen and catering facility, and a 7,000 square foot multipurpose space that was formerly a 1960s gym. The renovation also revamped the outer parts of the temple, making it look like a brand new building.
