March is National Nutrition Month

11 ways to celebrate National Nutrition Month in March.

Have you decided yet how you are going to celebrate National Nutrition Month? Here are some ideas.  

  • Spring clean your house of all foods and condiments that are passed their expiration date.
  • Spring clean your house of all foods that are too tempting to resist.
  • Go the entire month without fast food.
  • Make a list of all the stuff you know how to cook and get cooking.
  • Read labels and try to eat food that have 5 ingredients or less.
  • Eat vegetables everyday.
  • If you take vitamin supplements, review each supplement for possible drug interactions with medications, dose compared to RDA, and rationale for each.
  • Try cooking with more beans.
  • Start your vegetable garden by planting seeds in the house.
  • Ask your friend, neighbor, coworker or spouse to go for a walk.
  • Schedule an appointment with a registered dietitian to get your diet back on track.
