Still trying to lose weight?

Weight loss tips.

Have you ever seen the show The Biggest Loser? If you have, you know that extraordinary effort is required for weight loss. Losing weight is not impossible but it does require a level of commitment few are willing to give. The frustrating part is once you take the challenge, you can't quit, ever or you will gain all the weight back with interest. Chances are through personal experience you know this to be true.

Tips for successful and lasting weight loss:

  • Eat the foods you like but in limited quantities.
  • If you are not sure if you should eat something, don't eat it.
  • When I say exercise, I don't mean walking in the mall. Push yourself!
  • Say yes to coffee.
  • Say no to nuts and nut butters. Nuts are healthy just not for weight loss.
  • Stop looking for loopholes and short cuts - there are none.
  • Calories always count even on your birthday.
  • The calories from beverages add up.
  • Overeating solves nothing.
  • Exercise even if you don't feel like it.
  • There is no time off for good behavior.
  • If food is too tempting don't keep it in your house.
  • Be brutally honest with yourself.
  • Stop giving yourself permission to have one more bite.

There are no quick fixes. You didn't gain the weight yesterday and it is not all going to be gone tomorrow.  Successful weight loss is the product of eating less and moving more. Every minute of everyday counts.
