Marvin Nameth Dies at 87

Syosset man was a WWII veteran, former NYPD police officer.

Marvin Nemeth of Syosset, NY died Jan. 8 at the age of 87.

Nemeth is survived by his sons Douglas, Jeffery and Jonathan, daughters-in-law Siggi and Pam, sister Marilyn Kohn and numerous grandchildren, relatives and friends. His devoted wife of 48 years, Harriet, passed away in 2003.

Born in 1927, Nemeth had many accomplishments, including earning the Boy Scouts highest level of achievement the Eagle Scout, serving in the Marine Corps during WWII & being a police officer for a quarter of century with the NYPD.

Marvin was extremely handy and resourceful. He used these skills to help those in need. Once a marine, always a marine, Marvin fought to the end. He will be missed.

His funeral was held on Jan. 12 at the Star of David Memorial Chapel in West Babylon.
