Happy Hour Specials: 516 American Kitchen and Bar

Check out the extensive beer selection at this new eatery's happy hour.

Berry Hill Road in Syosset features a sort of “village” in the town, with great restaurants, shops and more. Yet many people may not venture to the area for just drinks or happy hour.

Thanks to the new eatery, you don’t have to go far from home for a beer or cocktail.

Happy Hour at 516 is on Thursday nights from 4pm to 7pm. Drinks during happy hour are 2 for 1, and appetizer specials are offered at the bar as well. 516 features different drink specials aside from happy hour (like a free glass of wine or tap beer with an entrée); check their Facebook page for more deals.

516 is one of the best local spots for beers; 20 beers are on tap, with classics like Amstel Light and Heinken, but also more unique finds such as Blue Point Toasted Lager (this brand is more common farther east on the island) and Pabst Blue Ribbon (normally just a cheap choice for college students, but becoming popular!).

Aside from the menu staples, 516 offers eight specialty beers that change daily; check the big chalkboard in the dining room for a list of the lagers.

While they have an extensive beer selection and wine list, 516 also serves several signature cocktails. 516 Punch is a popular choice, with seasonal fruit and rum. Sangria is the perfect summer drink, and 516 makes their own with red wine, fresh fruit and brandy. Hard lemonade is a fun choice to sip on, made with lemonade, vodka and club soda.

While 516 offers great food, it is also ideal for happy hour or post-dinner drinks. Local spots with a variety of drink specialties (especially beer) are hard to find, so 516 is the perfect new addition to Syosset.

This review does a disservice- it is a terrific restaurant with a fresh (for this area) American style menu. It is not a beer hall as the author of the above review paints it, however, the beer selection is to be envied. The BEST fish tacos I ever had. Excellent service when I was there at lunch. Decent prices, almost what you'd pay at Gabbys for boring deli food.

Had lunch there. Place was empty and service was still slow. Ordered a hamburger that came late and was overcooked. This place will be gone in 6 months just like the 5 others that preceded it at this location.

My husband and I have never encountered such rude and stingy people. Do yourself a favor and drive right by it. You should read this one review on Yelp we just saw AFTER our first and only experience here...

What is it with this spot? A restaurant cannot seem to stay open long here. perhaps a chain type eating establishment should consider opening here? Applebee, Cal. Pizza Kitchen, along those lines?

You do realize you are eating in Syosset with people from the area and wait staff is probably from here too

For instance, critical thinking is not about finding fault with people who make noise by using leafRead More blowers, but about an in-depth thinking of goals and values we will achieve by limiting their use. People could earn more quality life and peace of mind by having quiet time in the early morning and the late evening. The value of mental peace is regarded crucial in our life. Critical thinking gives us a process of thinking to get into the depth of the problem. It begins with an analysis of the situation (structure, background, or setting), in which the information of when, where, and who is identified. The information may help set up seasonal differences in restricting hours of leaf blower operation. Further thinking will lead critical thinkers to note the implication of the new ordinance to the business of licensed landscapers. Also, critical thinkers may think about the development of a soundproof leaf blowing machine. Critical thinking helps us to increase and share our common values, rather than tries to find faults with people who make problems.
