We posed a simple question on our Facebook page on Monday:
A state commission has recommeded replacing LIPA with private utility. Do you agree?
We got several responses, like this one from Scott VanPala:
"The Commission should be replaced then.. If LIPA had just trimmed the trees beforehand, NONE of this would ever have happened."
He continued: "Crisis couldve been prevented...When a properly pruned tree falls down, it should not take any wires with it. The problem is there's not enough money for pruning. What were the recommendations for the private utility to do differently?"
"Something has to be done!!!!!" concluded Debbie Goldband Dash.
