Update: All Lanes on LIE Re-Opened After Truck Crash
The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at exit 43 on the LIE; lanes were re-opened hours after.
All lanes on the Long Island Expressway at exit 44 and 43 that were closed have been re-opened after a truck overturned around 3:30 p.m., Nassau Police said.
Fire officials confirmed that there were multiple injuries in the crash, as police and firefighters worked at the scene. A helicopter was called in to airlift one of the injured parties to Nassau University Medical Center.
Police re-opened the highway several hours later, and had no further information available.
