Blood Drive for Injured Firefighter on Tuesday
The Syosset Fire Department will host a blood drive on Tuesday in honor of injured FDNY firefighter Robert Wiedmann.

Wiedmann, 38, was injured in a fire in Crown Heights, Brooklyn in December 2011. 40 percent of his body was burned in the blaze at a brownstone on Prospect Place. Wiedmann is at the beginning of a reported one-year recovery process.

All blood types will be accepted in donations. Type O-negative donors will contribute directly to Wiedmann's recovery.
