Cops: Drop in Car Vandalism

Police report four incidents of vandalism in cars last week.

Car vandalism dropped in the past week in the Syosset area, according to Nassau County Police. 

Cops reported four instances of criminal mischief involving damage to cars in Plainview, Farmingdale, and Hicksville within a three-day period.

Tires were slashed by vandals on two cars in Plainview and Farmingale, cops said.

In Plainview, a car at Shoprite sustained scratches to the trunk.

Numbers are still down from prior weeks when incidents were double that of last week.

The Second Precinct reported the following crimes:

  • July 24: Criminal mischief; Shoprite, Plainview; scratch on car trunk.
  • July 25: Criminal mischief; Nixon Drive, Plainview; tires slashed, window broken on car.
  • July 27: Criminal mischief; Fulton Street, Farmingdale; tires slashed on car.
  • July 27: Criminal mischief; Cottage Boulevard, Hicksville; side door on car damaged.
