Cops: Electronics Stolen from Cars

Patch reports on crime in and around Syosset and Woodbury.

Cars continued to be targeted by theifs in and around Syosset.

The Second Precinct reported 11 car-related crimes within one week. Incidents varied in severity, ranging from sunglasses and Apple computer chargers being taken from cars to grand theft auto.

"It takes less than a minute for a thief to break your car window and snatch the iPod, laptop or purse on the front seat," according to Nationwide.

At a Woodbury restaurant, an iPad and Coach pocketbook were stolen from a car.

The Second Precinct reported the following crimes:

  • Jan. 30: Petit larceny; Rhona Terrace, South Farmingdale; Maui Jim sunglasses stolen from car.
  • Jan. 31: Grand larceny; Rallye BMW, Westbury; tires and rims stolen from car.
  • Jan. 31: Petit larceny; Division Avenue, Levittown; iPad stolen from car.
  • Jan. 31: Petit larceny; Sagamore Street, Plainview; two plates stolen from car.
  • Feb. 2: Millford Drive, Levittown; car stolen.
  • Feb. 2: Grand larceny; Buffalo Wild Wings, Hicksville; pocketbook stolen from car.
