Cops Hunt Woodbury Bank Robber; Need Your Help

Suspect passed a note demanding cash; fled in unknown direction.

Nassau County Police have issued a bulletin seeking the public's help in finding a man who robbed a Chase Bank branch in Woodbury last Friday.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Nov. 15, the suspect captured in the surveillance video entered the bank at 7977 Jericho Turnpike.

Police said the suspect removed a deposit slip from the counter and approached the teller. On the deposit slip, he had written a note saying he was armed with a gun and demanded cash.

The teller handed over an undetermined amount of U.S. currency and the suspect fled on foot northbound into the parking lot on Jericho Turnpike.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5’10,” 40 years old and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a camouflage jacket, blue pants, white cap, black ankle-high shoes and wearing wearing yellow tinted wire frame glasses.

Police are asking that anyone with information about this robbery contact the Nassau County Police Department Robbery Squad at 516-573-8040. You can also call "Crime Stoppers" at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477). All calls are confidential. A cash award of up to $5,000 is available for tips that lead to a conviction, police said.
