Cops: Man Robbed Syosset 7-Eleven

The robbery took place Wednesday evening.

A man is was arrested for a robbery that occurred Wednesday evening in Syosset, authorities said.

Nassau Police say James Eisinger, 27, whose address is unknown, was inside a 7-Eleven at 50 Berry Hill Rd., and put a beer and some other items on the counter to purchase. The clerk asked for identification, and Eisinger produced a Florida I.D. Next, the clerk began to question Eisinger about his address. Eisinger then became agitated, jumped over the counter and struck the clerk on the side of the face.  

Detectives say Eisinger then grabbed the beer can and a package of candy and ran into a waiting vehicle. A witness in the parking lot, observed the incident, recorded the license plate and called 911.

Second Precinct police officers on patrol spotted Eisinger a short time later, near the Syosset train station and placed him under arrest.  

Eisinger is charged with third-degree robbery, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, and second-degree criminal contempt from a previous order of protection.

He is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
