Three-year-old remains on life support.

A Bay Shore woman faces multiple charges–including drunk driving–related to a March car crash in Syosset that has left her young daughter on life support.

Last Tuesday the Nassau County Grand Jury indicted Samantha Alfaro, 18, with two counts of aggravated vehicular assault, vehicular assault first degree, vehicular assault second degree, aggravated DWI with child under 15, reckless endangerment second degree, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a child, driving while intoxicated more than .08, rear passenger under 4 years old without restraint, consumption of alcohol in motor vehicle, and failure to keep right.

Homicide detectives arrested Alfaro at her home at 39 Kansas Ave. She pleaded not guilty Monday at First District Court in Hempstead, according to multiple reports.

According to detectives, Alfaro was drunk while driving her 1998 Mazda sedan northbound on March 8 on South Oyster Bay Road next to Hicks Lane. She veered into the southbound lanes and struck a tree. Alfaro's 3-year-old daughter, Yhoalibeth, was found in the backseat restrained by a seat belt and not an approved child seat.

Both Alfaro and the child were taken to Nassau University Medical Center. Yhoalibeth suffered internal spine and abdominal injuries. Alfaro suffered internal injuries and fractured ankles.
