Cops: One Syosset Burglary, Four Nearby

Manhattan man charged in Syosset burglary; four other break-ins reported.

Five burglaries were reported last week in the Second Precinct, police reported.

According to Nassau County Detectives, Syosset, Plainview, Bethpage, an Hicksville reported break-ins.

In nearby Syosset, Vincent Yi, 24, of Manhattan, was arrested after he was seen walking out of a Woodbury home and found with items he had taken, cops said.

At 8 a.m. Wednesday, cops said Yi entered an Underhill Avenue home through an unlocked kitchen door and headed for a nearby bedroom. Yi then forced open the locked bedroom door, took a Tag Heuer watch and some cash, then fled the scene on foot, cops said.

The Second Precinct reported the following crimes:

  • May 1: Burglary; Underhill Avenue, Syosset; Tag Heuer watch, cash stolen.
  • May 3: Burglary; Pearl Drive, Plainview; downstairs apartment targeted, nothing reported taken.
  • May 5: Burglary; Family Lumber, Bethpage; cash stolen.
  • May 6: Burglary; Arrow Lane, Hicksville; 60-inch television, air mattress, laptop stolen.
  • May 6: Burglary; Seitz Drive, Bethpage; attempted break-in through bathroom window, nothing reported stolen.
