Cops: Purses Stolen from Cars Nearby

LIRR parking lots, residential areas targeted near Syosset, cops say.

Purses, catalytic convertors, Macbooks, and more were stolen from cars near Syosset last week, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops reported six thefts from cars around the Second Precinct in Hicksville, Plainview, Bethpage, North Massapequa, and Farmingdale.

Expensive electronics were not the only proceeds in the burglaries. Catalytic convertors and wiper blades were also swiped in the incidents.

The Second Precinct reported the following crimes:

  • July 24: Petit larceny; BNC Enterprises, Hicksville; license plates, registration stolen from car.
  • July 24: Petit larceny; Grohman's Lane, Plainview; pocketbook stolen from car.
  • July 24: Grand larceny; Bethpage LIRR; catalytic convertor stolen from car.
  • July 26: Petit larceny; North Atlanta Avenue, North Massapequa; two wiper blade arms stolen from car.
  • July 28: Grand larceny; Main Street, Farmingdale; Macbook, purse, backpack stolen from car.
  • July 30: Grand larceny; Farmingdale LIRR; GPS, sunglasses, phone charger stolen from car.
