Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and are offering $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a fugitive suspected of killing a Catholic nun in a hit-and-run accident.
Police say that Carlos Armando Ixpec-Chitay was behind the wheel on July 9 when an SUV , who was on a walk on Rose Hill Road in Water Mill.
Sister Jackie, who was staying at a nearby retreat house with fellow members of the Sisters of Mercy, was discovered by a passerby at 8:30 p.m. that night, and an SUV with front-end damage with later found abandoned nearby.

Southampton Town Police Chief William Wilson said the vehicle is registered to Ixpec-Chitay's employer.
Police describe Ixpec-Chitay as a 30-year-old Hispanic male with dark brown or black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall and approximately 140 pounds.
Ixpec-Chitay is known to frequent various places in Water Mill and Riverhead, police said; however, Wilson said police know that he has fled the area. Police are working with the U.S. Marshals, Suffolk County district attorney's office and other agencies to apprehend him.
Police are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run or Ixpec-Chitay's whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. Information leading to an arrest will result in a cash reward of up to $5,000.
