Cops Report 11 Burglaries Nearby

Police report 11 burglaries in one week in the Syosset area.

Nearly a dozen burglaries were reported in the Syosset area last week, cops said.

Nassau County Police reported 11 burglaries, most in residential areas. in Hicksville, Jericho, Plainview, and other surrounding towns within the Second Precinct.

Jericho saw a spike in burglaries compared to usual numbers. The neighborhood that has the occasional break-in saw three in one week.

Homes on Virginia Avenue, Opal Drive, and El Dorado Boulevard in Plainview were burglarized, police said. Items like jewelry, medication, iPhones, and designer accessories were taken in the incidents, police said.

The Second Precinct reported the following burglaries:

  • Feb. 10: Burglary; Virginia Avenue, Plainview; credit card with unauthorized charges.
  • Feb. 12: Burglary; Staples, Jericho; laser printer stolen.
  • Feb. 12: Burglary; Opal Drive, Plainview; jewelry, medications stolen.
  • Feb. 13: Burglary; Kuhl Avenue, Hicksville; assorted watches stolen.
  • Feb. 15: Burglary; Maynard Drive, Farmingdale; copper piping stolen.
  • Feb. 15: Burglary; Brittle Lane, Hicksville; attempted burglary in second floor window, nothing taken.
  • Feb. 17: Burglary; Phoenix Comics, Hicksville; comics and figurines stolen.
  • Feb. 18: Burglary; Lee Drive, Farmingdale; hunting knife, Blackberry stolen.
  • Feb. 18: Burglary; Madison Avenue, Jericho; rear window pried, nothing taken.
  • Feb. 19: Burglary; El Dorado Boulevard, Plainview; Gucci shoes, Movado watch, iPhone stolen.
  • Feb. 19: Burglary; Elias Hicks House, Jericho; rear window break, nothing taken.
