Cops: Woman Found Dead in Syosset Pool [UPDATED]

Nassau court official was found by landscaper Wednesday morning, cops said.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a Nassau Court official who was reportedly found dead in a Syosset swimming pool Wednesday morning.

A hired landscaper found Patricia Doyle, 55, of Syosset, lying face down in her Azalea Drive swimming pool at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, police confirmed.

Doyle was an attorney referee with Nassau County Family Court whose "area of expertise was to determine or hear and report on custody and visitation matters," reported Newsday.

Doyle was officially pronounced dead at the scene at 10:15 a.m. by a Nassau County ambulance medical technician.

"Her legacy is one of compassion and fairness," administrative judge of Nassau County, Thomas Adams, told Newsday. "She proudly served the residents of Nassau County with great distinction and respect."

Police released no further details in the case but said no criminality is suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
