Cops: Woman Stole Credit Cards from Unlocked Car
Woman faces charges after witness and surveillance video help identify her.
A woman faces grand larceny charges after she fled with credit cards she took from an unlocked vehicle in Syosset, according to Nassau County Police.
The incident was reported in the rear parking lot of 100 Lafayette Drive at 11:15 a.m. on May 28, cops said.
According to Nassau detectives, Liza Bagdan, of Oyster Bay, was seen in the driver's seat of a 1999 BMW when she was confronted by the car's owner.
Bagdan had opened the unlocked car door and was reportedly emptying the female victim's purse at the time, cops said.
The victim went back into the building to get help but Bagdan was gone when she returned, police said. Bagdan had taken a Citibank credit card belonging to the victim's boyfriend, cops reported.
Detectives identified Bagdan using surveillance video and located her Thursday at 1 a.m. in Oyster Bay Cove, they said. She was at a family member's home.
The missing credit card was not found, police said.
Bagdan is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
