Cops: Woodbury Employee Takes, Tries to Sell Projector

Employee to be charged with grand larceny; allegedly took $3,000 JVC movie projector from workplace.

 

A Woodbury employee is being charged with grand larceny after allegedly stealing a $3,000 movie projector from his workplace and attempting to sell it online, said Nassau County Police.

Andre Rodriguez, 45 of Freeport, was arrested Thursday afternoon after a JVC home cinema projector was found missing during an inventory check at his workplace, reported third squad detectives. A manager became suspicious after the projector was reported missing during the check, said police. The projector showed up on Tradingpost.com after a search of the model and serial number, reported police.

Rodriguez will be charged with fourth degree grand larceny and will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Jan. 27.
