Cops: Wyandanch Woman Arrested in Syosset

The woman had 76 fraudulent ten dollar bills and a loaded shotgun in her car, police said.

A Wyandanch woman was arrested after a routine traffic stop in Syosset Monday at 7:10 p.m. when police discovered she had 76 fraudulent ten dollar bills and a loaded shotgun in the trunk of her car.

Nassau police say they stopped the car driven by Jennifer Mitchell, 33, of 323 New Avenue, on Miller Road, when they saw it had no front plate. Mitchell had a suspended registration. During the investigation, police found the fraudulent cash and gun.

Mitchell is charged with three counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and environmental conservation law, firearm, loaded shotgun in vehicle along with several vehicle and traffic law violations.

She is to be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
