Crime Report: 7 Burglaries, 2 Robberies Reported

Second Precinct reports crime in and around Syosset.

Hicksville was targeted in a rash of burglaries within days of one another, according to police.

Second Precinct Detectives reported seven burglaries in the area, five of which were in Hicksville, within one week. Reports ranged from breaking and entering without any reports of lost goods to a burglary in Levittown where homeowners lost several electronics and jewelry.

Two robberies, one in Plainview and one in Jericho, were also reported by police.

In Syosset, an incident of grand larceny was reported at Inmotion where a garbage bag of clothing was stolen.

The Second Precinct reported the following crimes:

  • Jan. 20: Grand larceny; South Broadway, Hicksville; air conditioner/heating unit stolen.
  • Jan. 30: Burglary; Duffy Avenue, Hicksville; jewelry stolen.
  • Jan. 30: Grand larceny; CVS, Bethpage; wallet, cash stolen.
  • Jan. 31: Robbery; Richfield Street, Plainview; subject demanded money, nothing taken.
  • Feb. 1: Grand larceny; Inmotion, Syosset; two black garbage bags of clothing stolen.
  • Feb. 1: Burglary; Pine Hollow Road, East Norwich; jewelry stolen.
  • Feb. 1: Burglary; Tom's II Kitchen, Hicksville; cash register stolen.
  • Feb. 2: Burglary; Tommy's Kitchen, Hicksville; cash register stolen.
  • Feb. 3: Burglary; V Jag Laundromat, Hicksville; rear glass door shattered, nothing taken.
  • Feb. 3: Burglary; Sarashiva, Hicksville; window broken, costume jewelry stolen.
  • Feb. 4: Burglary; Richard Street, Farmingdale; suitcase, copper piping stolen.
  • Feb. 4: Burglary; Valley Road, Levittown; flat screen TV, XBox games, jewelry, iPad, video camera, computer stolen.
  • Feb. 4: Robbery; Hostway Motor Inn, Jericho; subject displayed knife, cash stolen.
