Crime Report: Burglaries All But Gone

Patch reports on the latest crimes in Syosset and Plainview.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Second Precinct of the Nassau County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A spike in burglary reports came this week with five reported in the area, four within one week. One burglary arrest was also made this week, .

  • Feb. 3: Criminal mischief; , Plainview; wires for light pole shorted.
  • Feb. 7: Burglary; Bay Avenue, Hicksville; jewelry stolen.
  • Feb. 26: Burglary; Randy Lane, Plainview; rear sliding door entry, no loss.
  • March 5: Grand larceny; Opal Drive, Plainview; tires and rims stolen from car.
  • March 6: Grand larceny; NY & Co., Plainview; dress shirts stolen.
  • March 6: Petit larceny; Phipps Lane, Plainview; laptop, suitcase stolen.
  • March 7: Burglary; Middle Lane, Jericho; jewelry, Louis Vuitton bag stolen.
  • March 7: Burglary; Walden Avenue, Jericho; gift cards and CDs taken from car.
  • March 10: Petit larceny; Stuart Drive, Syosset; iPod stolen from car.
  • March 11: Burglary; Ridge Drive, Plainview; jewelry and cash stolen
  • March 11: Graffiti; Baylis Elementary School, Syosset; spray paint on storage container.
  • March 11: Graffiti; Acorn Lane, Plainview; marker graffiti.

  • March 6: Warren Sklar, 32; charged with criminal mischief; William Street, Hicksville.
  • March 6: Christopher Champlin, 23; charged with burglary; William Street, Hicksville.
  • March 9: Richard Bag, 65; charged with grand larceny; Citibank, Westbury.
  • March 10: Nakita Evans, 17; charged with petit larceny; Macy's, Broadway Mall.
  • March 10: Stephanie Bounfiglio, 17; charged with petit larceny; Macy's, Broadway Mall.
  • March 12: Nabiha Siddiqui, 17; charged with petit larceny; Stop & Shop, Hicksville.
  • March 12: Amanda Ferreira, 16; charged with petit larceny; Stop & Shop, Hicksville.
  • March 12: Gail Springer, 39; charged with petit larceny; King Kullen, Syosset.
