Restaurants were targeted in several burglaries within one week in the Syosset area, according to Nassau County Police.
Detectives at the Second Precinct said that of six of 11 reported burglaries last week targeted local restaurants.
Also targeted were nearby car dealerships, including Legend Nissan in Syosset and a Westbury BMW dealer. In both cases, eight sets of tires were taken.

Police also reported that the Plainview TD Bank was robbed and that the suspect had fled:
Police were alerted to the robbery at the corner of Old Country and South Oyster Bay Road about 3 p.m. Thursday. Bank officials reported a man approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash. Full story and description of the suspect here.

- Jan. 18: Burglary; Cambridge Avenue, Bethpage; assorted jewelry, collectables, shot gun stolen.
- Jan. 18: Burglary; Bluebird Lane, Plainview; rear door entry attempted, nothing taken.
- Jan. 19: Grand larceny; Legend Nissan, Syosset; eight sets of tires stolen.
