Crime Report: Sudden Rash of Criminal Mischiefs

Patch reports on recent criminal activity in the Syosset-Woodbury area.

The following reports were provided by Nassau County Police. An arrest is an accusation; it does not indicate a conviction:

A series of criminal mischief reports surfaced around the region during the last 10 days, many unspecified, as the school year came to a close. At least one arrest was made in connection with the sudden rash of vandalism. A similar pattern emerged during the end of June, 2011.

  • June 23; Criminal mischief; Four Points by Sheraton, Plainview.
  • June 23; Criminal mischief; Plainview Road, Hicksville.
  • June 22; Grand Larceny; The Mews, Syosset.
  • June 22; Burglary; South Windhorst Avenue, Bethpage.
  • June 23; Burglary; Cold Spring Road, Syosset.
  • June 22; Grand Larceny; Underhill Blvd., Syosset.
  • June 7; Burglary; California Street, Hicksville.

The following people were arrested by Nassau County Police:

  • On June 20: Ryan Hart, no further information (nfi), charged with criminal mischief in connection with an incident at Chadwick Road, Syosset.
  • On June 20, Spiro Kyriazos, nfi, charged with burglary in connection with an incident at California Street, Hicksville.
  • On June 22, Kenneth Salgado, nfi, charged with criminal mischief, Market Drive, Syosset.
  • On June 25, Naketa D. Saunders, nfi, charged with grand larceny, LIRR Station, Hicksville.
  • June 20, , of Bohemia, charged with aggravated DWI, Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway, Woodbury.
