Massapequa

The following series of unrelated burglaries were reported over a 5-day period:

On Dec. 12, someone attempted to burglarize a home on Park Blvd. in Masspequa Park, police said. The burglar attempted to break in through a side door during the overnight hours, but nothing was taken.

On Dec. 14, a home was broken into on Park Lane in Massapequa, police said. The thief broke in through a basement window and took cash and jewelry between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

On Dec 14, a burglar broke a basement window of a home on Lakeview Avenue in Massapequa, police said. The incident happened at 1:30 p.m. and nothing was taken.

On Dec. 16, a home was broken into on Pacific Street in Masspequa Park,, cops said. The basement window was broken at 1:30 p.m., but nothing was taken. 

Om Dec. 16, someone broke the basement window of a home on Massachusetts Avenue in Massapequa Park, the break-in occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. and nothing was taken, police said.

On Dec. 16, a burglar took jewelry from a home on Clark Avenue in Massapequa, police said. The burglary took place between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

 

Hicksville

A middle-aged man armed with a stun gun threatened a store clerk on South Oyster Bay Road Monday and fled with the contents of the cash register, Nassau Police said.

said the robbery occurred just after 3 p.m. Monday at the 50% Off Card Store on the Hicksville side of South Oyster Bay Road. The man approached the counter and demanded money from a 24-year-old cashier.

The man, described as 45-years-old wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black sweat pants, sunglasses and appearing unshaven, then went behind the counter and took an undetermined amount of cash from the register, police said.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported.

Huntington

Cynthia Zaidi of Mastic Beach was arrested in Huntington for robbery in the second-degree.

According to Nassau County police, Jordan Dissis, 18, of 355 Rte 340, Spark Hill, N.Y. and Louis Bueno, 18, of 32 Hunters Lane, Huntington, approached a male on Main Street, pointed a handgun at his chest and demanded his property.

One stood behind the 33-year-old victim with a large Maglite flashlight and threatened to hit the victim if he did not cooperate, police said. According to reports, the victim complied and handed the subjects his wallet, which contained $12 cash and personal papers, a maroon Metro PCS cell phone and his Adidas backpack before Dissis and Bueno fled on foot

Bueno was arrested Sept. 15 and arraigned on Sept. 16 in the First District Court. Dissis was arraigned on Dec. 17 in First District Court.
