Cops Seek Help Finding Identity Thieves

Crime Stoppers, the Nassau County Police Department, and the Glen Cove Police Department are seeking the public’s help with identifying, and locating the pictured subjects wanted in connection with an Grand Larceny that occurred in Glen Cove.On Aug. 17, at approximately 12:00 PM, a motor vehicle was broken into at the Retro Fitness Gym located at 4 Cedar Swamp Road, Glen Cove, and the victim’s pocketbook containing a undisclosed amount of US currency, assorted personal papers and assorted credit cards were stolen.  

At approximately 1:00 PM, the pictured subjects were observed at Target, and Wal-Mart in Westbury, NY making multiple purchases using the victim’s credit card. The subjects fled the scene in a dark grey Toyota Camry, in an unknown direction.

Bethpage Man Accused of Public Lewdness at Pool

A Bethpage man has been charged with public lewdness after police say he exposed himself to three females, including a 14-year-old, at an apartment complex pool in Westbury. On Tuesday, Nassau detectives charged Mario Kot, 56, with exposing himself to the three victims. 

The incident took place on the afternoon of Aug. 23 at the Archstone Meadowbrook Crossing apartment complex in Westbury, police said.Police say the three victims, ages 29, 28 and 14, were sitting out by the complex pool at 1299 Corporate Drive when they observed Kot, about 10 feet away, exposing himself through the mesh on a beach chair. The victims notified a lifeguard as the defendant fled in his 2012 Toyota Camry.

A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the Kot, of 669 Broadway. He was charged with public lewdness and endangering the welfare of child. He was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court, Hempstead.

Great Neck Man Victim in $120K Sale

A Bronx man was arrested Tuesday after attempting to swindle a Great Neck man in a bogus Manhattan real estate deal, Nassau County Police said. Roderick Allen, 43, is charged with second-degree grand larceny second-degree possession of a forged instrument after police said he claimed to be the attorney representing the property owner in a commercial real estate deal. Police allege Allen took a check for $120,000 from the 59-year-old victim, and instead of placing it in escrow, cashed it Kingston Check Cashing Corporation in Brooklyn.

Nassau Crimes Against Property Squad detectives collared Allen after the arrests of Harris Jean, 41, of the Bronx, and Anthony Burrison, 47, of Brooklyn. Police said both Jean and Burrison also misrepresented their roles during the real estate transaction process and have been arraigned.

Police: Great Neck Man Tied to Burglaries 

A Great Neck man arrested for a burglary along Nassau's South Shore is now being tied to similar crimes in Port Washington, Nassau County police said on Monday.

Cops said they arrested David Mintz after responding to an alarm at Sushi Ko Restaurant in Merrick. Upon arriving, a police officer said he saw Mintz running from the rear of the store and that he had taken money from the cash register.
Nassau police also alleged that Mintz was involved in other burglaries in Uniondale, Great Neck and Port Washington. 

The defendant is being charged with 11 counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of attempted burglary. He will be arraigned Monday at First District court in Hempstead.
