Crimes Nearby: Schools Spray-Painted; Robberies

Syosset: A boat was reported stolen from a mooring on Cold Spring Road in Laurel Hollow on Aug. 26.

South Woods Middle School and Syosset High School were found spray-painted on Sept. 2.

Farmingdale: On Sept. 1, at approximately 11:45 a.m., an unknown person entered through the unlocked front door of a residence on County Line Road and allegedly stole a laptop, Playstation 3, Wii Game Console, and a DJ turntable.

Hicksville: Nassau County police arrested the following: 

On Aug. 31, Thomas Pieken, 22, burglary, William Street, Hicksville.

On Sept. 1, Christopher Champlin, 22, burglary, William Street, Hicksville.

On Sept. 2, Tulio Barco, 53, unlicensed operator, TOB parking lot, Hicksville.

On Sept. 4, Ruben Diaz, 29, aggravated unlicensed first-degree, Northern State Parkway, Hicksville.

On Sept. 4, Joseph Youssef, 61, petit larceny, Sears, Hicksville.

Bellmore: Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a BP Gas Station on Jerusalem Avenue in North Bellmore on Sept. 1.

Wantagh: On Sept. 4, Timothy Montgomery, 23, of Seaford, was arrested at World Gym in Wantagh and charged with two counts of petit larceny.

Huntington: Dario Cortes from Huntington was arrested in Huntington for second-degree harassment and 2nd degree unlawful surveillance.

Half Hollow Hills: Police say a man handed a teller a note indicating he had a gun during a robbery of the Dix Hills Plaza Bank of America Saturday afternoon.

The robbery occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the bank located at 709 Old Country Road. The note demanded cash and the teller complied, giving the man an unspecified amount of money, police said. 

The man was last seen fleeing the bank's parking lot on foot, police said.
