DWI Defendant Carbone Returns to Court Friday

Syosset man is still in jail as of Thursday morning.

A Syosset man accused of driving his Maserati more than 100 MPH on the Long Island Expressway while intoxicated will be back in court Friday.

As of Thursday morning, 49-year-old Joseph Carbone was still being held at the Nassau County Jail on a $100,000 bond. His Friday hearing will be held at District Court Part 9 in Mineola, with court starting at 9:30 a.m.

Bond was set Wednesday afternoon after Carbone was stopped at 3 a.m. Wednesday morning going westbound on the LIE near exit 44. When the arresting officer mentioned his speed at around 110 MPH, Carbone countered that he was actually going in excess of 130 MPH, according to police.
