Fiery Crash Temporarily Closes LIE

Driver OK in Saturday crash that temporarily closed eastbound LIE at Route 135 in Syosset.

A fiery crash Saturday morning temporarily closed the eastbound Long Island Expressway at Route 135 in Syosset, according to Nassau Police.

and Nassau Highway Patrol responded to the accident and found a car deep into the woods on fire, according to authorities at the scene. They said the driver was not injured and Syosset fire fighters extinguished the fully engulfed car.

Nassau Police reported all lanes reopened as of 12:17 p.m. Saturday.
